Logistics is often seen as a simple process: book a truck, load the goods, deliver on time.
In reality, freight forwarding is a daily balance between planning, problem-solving, communication and constant adaptation.
So we decided to tell a few real logistics truths… through memes.
1️⃣

Yeah… we book trucks.
And then we fix everything that happens after the booking.
(Which is… most of the job)
A freight forwarder is often perceived as a “middleman”.
In practice, our role is to connect carriers, shippers, warehouses, terminals and schedules and to make sure everything works together under real-life conditions.
Our daily work includes:
- route and capacity planning
- risk assessment
- coordination between multiple partners
- real-time problem handling when plans change
Forwarding is way more than passing emails.
The challenge is to protect the flow of the supply chain when reality doesn’t follow the plan.
2️⃣

Unexpected events are part of the job.
Road closures…accidents… sudden weather changes… last-minute loading issues… these are all challenges that carriers face every day.
Dispatchers are constantly adjusting routes, timings, and alternatives.
But what really matters is understanding the people on the road, reacting quickly, communicating clearly, and finding the safest and most realistic solution not only for the shipment, but for the drivers who make it happen.
It’s a tough job, and it deserves respect, patience, and empathy.
3️⃣

That moment is not happiness.
It’s pure logistics relief.
Anyone working in logistics knows how valuable a confirmed loading or unloading slot really is.
Behind that short confirmation message, there is:
- coordination with terminals and warehouses
- alignment with driver schedules
- compliance with time windows and site restrictions
Booking is never treated as a formality.
It is a critical point in the transport chain that directly affects waiting times, driver fatigue and delivery reliability.
Sometimes, a simple confirmation really is good news.
4️⃣

Just one more pallet…
famous last words in transport.
Optimising space is important.
Overloading is risky.
When pressure increases, especially during peak seasons, the temptation to “just add one more pallet” becomes very real.
This is where proper palletisation and loading planning make a real difference.
- legal axle and weight limits
- safe stacking and load stability
- correct distribution inside the trailer
A better-planned load protects the goods, the driver and the delivery schedule.
Efficiency should never come at the cost of safety.
5️⃣

“Can we have both?”
deep breath
There is rarely one perfect option.
We explain the real trade-offs behind every option:
- transit reliability
- route stability
- carrier availability
- seasonal and operational risks
Our role is to help our clients choose what fits their priorities and not what simply looks better on paper.
Because the cheapest option is not always the least expensive in the end.
Choose wisely…
Closing…
Logistics memes are funny because they are so relatable.
But behind every “funny situation”, there is professional responsibility, coordination and decision-making.
At DS Freight Forwarding, we believe that strong partnerships are built exactly there:
in the moments when reality tests the plan
and the team behind it
